ABOUT JACK LETTER LAW

About

The Jack Letter Law is a web-exclusive comic strip that is created by Zach Martz, an attorney licensed in the District of Columbia. The aim of this comic is to provide an entertaining and humorous platform for educating readers about the various laws and legal issues of the United States. It centers around law students Jack Strauss and Dave Nyman, and their attempts to understand the craziness of law school and of legal practice. Read the strips in the Gallery below, enjoy them, and hopefully learn a thing or two!

Going to law school is expensive and time-consuming, and for most people it is neither a desirable endeavor nor a practical one. Most citizens, however, need to have a good understanding of the laws that affect their lives, their property and their rights. This is what I hope to bring about with The Jack Letter Law.

My goal is to contribute to American citizens' understanding and appreciation of the law, in a way that also makes them laugh and be entertained. Because let's face it, casebooks and statutes can be pretty dry and boring most of the time. By reading the comic strips contained in this gallery, I hope you can learn some fundamental facts about the law while also being amused by Jack Strauss and his classmates and professors. Whether you're a law student, law graduate, practicing attorney, or just someone with a thirst for knowledge about the law, this comic is for you. Enjoy!

About Zach

SAVING JACK'S BRAIN

The Jack Letter Law is not the first comic strip Zach Martz has created or published. It is actually the successor strip to Saving Jack's Brain, which ran from 2004 to 2016! This strip covered the various deeds and adventures of Jack Strauss, Dave Nyman and their friends in college. Its unique blend of quirky characters, irreverent humor, outlandish story sequences, and wry sociopolitical commentary and satire make it a comic unlike any other that's out there on the Web. Take some time from reading Jack Letter Law and read some Saving Jack's Brain today!
